Item details

Your yarn feeds smoothly and evenly from the outside of your skein or spool when placed on this beautiful spinner. The knitters in our family love no longer having to stop and adjust balls of yarn when working on a project. Lydia was skeptical when we gave her one to test, but now says she uses it every day! I read on a knitting blog recently that unwinding from the outside of the skein like this is best because it does not add twist. (The big question here is why I read knitting blogs when so far my own knitting career is limited to two UFOs. The answer is that I like reading about knitting more than actually knitting. And I love my knitters. Presumably, if you're reading this, you enjoy the knitting process itself; or like me, you love a knitter!)

This is a quality piece made for a lifetime of use. Jack hand turned this on the lathe from select oak hardwood and assembled it with steel bearings for smooth operation and long life. The lazy susan fitting is recessed into the wood for an optimal fit between the pieces without large gaps.

Please note: Yours will be unique. (Because each yarn holder is crafted by hand and because wood has natural variations in color and grain patterns, your item may differ slightly from the photo.)

Prefer a different wood? More are available, as shown in the examples in the 4th photo:

Maybe you'd like a nostepinde. They're great for making center pull yarn balls to take along for portable projects. https://www.etsy.com/shop/KissingFrog?section_id=11131779

Estimated Shipping
Shipping to
Zip or postal code

Many items ship USPS Priority with an expected delivery time of 2 - 3 business days. Exceptions include Bee Good to Wood and other small items for which we charge less than $5 shipping and handling. Also, larger items will usually ship USPS parcel to keep your costs down. If your shipment is time sensitive, please let us know and we can clarify the quote for your item. We aim for speedy service and usually ship the next business day after payment. We live on the north end of town and the post office is on the south end. This is a blessing because, in this small town, that means we're only 2 blocks apart! And there's usually a kid available and happy to stretch her legs and drop off a package.

We would be happy to combine shipping on multiple items. Please contact us for a quote.

At this time, we only ship in the United States.
