Item details

Here is our cape pattern from the 1600's and worn throughout several centuries afterwards. It has been patterned from an authentic cape of the 1580 - 1630 era.

Pdf pattern includes:

Pattern pieces - please note that pieces must be joined before cutting
fabric and notion guide
Description and general sewing guide
Complete sewing instructions
Prints on standard size office paper

It is a very quick and simple sewing project. There are only 10 steps in the instructions and no illustrations come with the pattern as it is quite self explanatory.

The cape is a circle cut of fabric with a small back neck collar. It is lined and closes with cording or ribbon ties. The original design had four rows of decorative embroidery around the cape. Ladies must have enjoyed hours of hand work before Franklin helped give us electricity!
Our cape has a single row of decorative machine stitching using thread the same color as the lining.

This could be a fun project to enjoy with your young doll enthusiast.
It could easily fit dolls of varied sizes by adding to or shortening the length.

The pattern can be downloaded INSTANTLY and is in a PDF format. Adobe Reader is required to view and print correctly.

Thanks for visiting us and happy sewing!
