I'm not certain of the age, but this scene depicting The Manger and Wise Men is just lovely. Being a plant geek though, I really love the Helleborus flowers shown, so pretty! Odd though, because the plant's common name is Lenten Rose since they are usually in bloom during that time period in the liturgical calender, not in December.... well, at least not here in Virginia. I digress, but it does make one wonder if the artists had a meaning behind including them... sort of a foreshadowing. Probably not. For all I know Hellebores bloom in December in Germany.
It measures about 11" around and is 2" deep. I good, vintage condition with just a small hole in one of the upper creases. Truly hardly noticeable. A small marking that says Made In Germany is on the interior circle.
With handmade and vintage items there will be subtle flaws or imperfections though but I will do my very best to point those out in my descriptions. Some of the vintage items may come from a home where people smoked... what can I say, they didn't know it would kill you back then.
