==================
Choose your fiber base from the options below. The amount of natural color that shows through will vary from dye-lot to dye-lot and from fiber type to fiber type. Please allow some variation between dye lots.

BFL SILK
Blue Face Leicester is a British luster longwool, 25-27 microns. It is blended with tussah silk for amazing luster. This is a joy to spin. Typically there will be more natural color in BFL Silk braids.

CHEVIOT
Cheviot Wool top is a British wool breed, with a micron between 27-33. This is a great fiber for beginning spinners. It is very open and drafts easily. Typically there will be less natural color in Cheviot braids.

FALKLAND
Falkland wool is some of the cleanest and softest non-merino wool available and takes colors well. Falkland tends to have more natural color showing, although this can vary by colorway.

MIXED BFL
Mixed BFL is a 75/25 blend of the natural white and natural brown Blue Faced Leicester. The dark and light wools are distinct in the fiber. When spun, the finished yarn will have a naturally heathered look. Blue Faced Leicester is a fun spin and next-to-skin soft. Because of the naturally dark fibers, most colorways will be a shade darker on the Mixed BFL fiber.

TARGHEE
Targhee is a domestically grown wool that is processed in the United States and is around 23 microns. This spins in to a beautiful, soft, lofty yarn. Targhee typically has more natural color showing through.

Please allow for color variations between dye lots and between computer screens.

FAQs

Colors that use the same set of dye colors have the same name, although they may be applied in different ways. For example, Flower Shop Inferno is available as a variegated yarn, a Watercolor Stripes yarn, gradient- or fade-style half-skein set, mini skein set, and as spinning fiber. See the listing title and item details for more information on the color you are interested in.

Semisolid: A mostly solid color Tonal: Not quite solid, but not wildly variegated, either. Variegated: The color changes every few inches. These are sometimes called pooling colors. Socks/sleeves/mitts will be fraternal rather than identical. Watercolor Stripes: This style produces stripes when knit in small circumference projects, such as socks and mittens. My self-striping skeins are split in two to make it easier to match socks and mitts exactly. Mini Skein and Half Skein Sets: The color is deconstructed and spread out across 5 different skeins. These sets are are great for striping, gradient, or fade projects. They come as mini skein sets (100 grams) or as half size skeins (250 grams).

That's not a question, but I get you. Not every one loves the wildly fraternal socks that variegated yarns can sometimes make. I recommend using my Watercolor Stripes self-striping yarns to achieve matching socks and mitts. My Watercolor Stripes colors come automatically divided in to two matching skeins. Most of the colors that are available as a variegated colors are also available as Watercolor Stripes.

The majority of wait time is due to orders in the queue ahead of yours. I have a limited number of spots that I can dye each week. Rather than close ordering, I chose to extend the shipping times. The most current shipping estimates can be found in the shop announcements. RUSH ORDERS - Occasionally I can fill rush orders, but not in December. I'm sorry!

I host an audio podcast called Knit. Dye. Read. Although I do talk about Dyeabolical and related topics, Knit. Dye. Read. is primarily a personal podcast about what I'm knitting, what I'm reading, and what I am thinking about. There is no set recording schedule.
