About the Irish Hooks & Yarn patterns: The Donegal Cap was released in 2011, the Hockey Skates in 2012 and the Figure Skates, Soccer Cleats/Running Shoes and Ghillies/Ballet Slippers in 2013. All patterns now include some improved techniques and photos. The patterns are like e-books because they are very detailed with separate instructions for each size and plenty of pictures to demonstrate some of the techniques used.

Skill level: Beginner who is able to crochet in the round and read patterns

Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (#4)

Hook: G hook (4.25 mm)

Sizes:
Preemie to Newborn – for even the littlest sports fan but not a lot of room to grow!
Newborn to 3 months – for tiny feet and some room to grow as well!
3 to 6 months – the most popular size!
6 to 12 months – for the older infant!
12 to 24 months – for bigger feet who are walking around … bladeless booties! (Hockey and Figure Skates)

Skill level: Advanced Beginner who is able to crochet in the round and read patterns. Sewing is required to assemble the skates but not the cleats or ghillies:)

Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (#4); Red Heart Super Saver recommended

Hook: E/3.5 mm, F/3.75 mm, G /4.25 mm or H/5.0 mm depending on the size.
