Item details

Leicester Longwool Roving is a very long staple wool which is wonderfully soft and is a dream to spin. All our yarns are natural-color... just the way our Heritage and Rare Breed sheep grew it for you. These fibers come from my flock of Critically Endangered registered Leicester Longwools. The weight of each package is 2 oz. All of our wool is grown on our PA Century Farm which has been in my family for over 100 years. The farm is also on the National Register of Historic Places. We are committed to raising the more unusual livestock, rather than following the crowd and raising the big commercial sheep with yucky wool and tasteless meat. We hope you will support us in our mission. For more information about rare and heritage breeds, please visit the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy at www.albc-usa.org and thanks for looking at our little 'shop'.

Oh this stuff is wonderful to spin! I haven't even found any second cuts and almost no vegetation, it's just lovely! Super nice seller, too :)
