Item details

The item available here is a digital PDF file for a crochet pattern (American) devised and written by me as a guideline to create an original and adaptable work of art. It does not in any way represent the official Smurf brand. If you make a doll using this pattern, please do so for your own enjoyment and do not sell the finished doll or resell this pattern.

This basic pattern can be made using any yarn in any color, but the given example uses blue and white acrylic yarns. The thickness and texture of the yarn you use will affect the size, durability, and stability of your finished doll. Depending on the yarn you use, the size of your hook, and the amount of stuffing you put in, the finished doll should stand about 8-10 inches tall.

This pattern is mostly written using verbal descriptions of what to do rather than traditional pattern codes, although I do use those pattern codes to help simplify the instructions where I can. I wrote it out while actually crocheting a doll, step by step by step by step, so I can tell you that following these instructions does lead to a finished product. The finished doll will be made up of a connected head, body, legs and feet with separate arms/hands/fingers and thumbs, nose, ears, tail, and hat, which must be sewn to the doll. I can't not recommend this pattern to beginners, since I was a beginner when I made it up, but I've been told it's most likely an intermediate-level pattern. It usually takes me between 3-7 days to complete a doll.

Once you're done following this pattern, you can personalize your finished doll by adding props and clothing of your choice, like glasses, a cape, or a dress. Or, if you like, you can add hair and/or a beard. The sky's the limit. Have fun! :)

P.S. If you have trouble opening the PDF file or following the pattern instructions, please contact me and I'll do my best to help you out ASAP. :)
