The two fabric designers that stood out in quilting revival of the '70's are Jinny Beyer and Jeff Gutcheon. They were the first designers to break from the small scale calico designs into large scale prints. Gutcheon's print known as Morning Glory from his American Classic Line is a sophisticated print with an Art Deco feel, one of my all time favorite prints now out of print.
These fabrics are from the first quilt store in Montana, the Patchworks, established in 1976 by my mother and aunt. There was a quilting revival going on and they bought every bolt of quilting fabric available for their store, at least it seemed that way.
Quilts will be sent Priority Mail or UPS with tracking and insurance. I ship within 48 hours, but usually sooner than that. International orders will be responsible for tariffs, taxes and customs.
US Shipping Fabric:
Fabric orders are sent parcel post in the United States. If you want to purchase more than one yard of fabric I would recommend the flat rate Priority Mail envelope. For orders in the US it is $5.95 and will fit up to 6.5 yards, but it is not insurable and the customer assumes all risks for loss in transit. The Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes can be insured and the large and medium boxes will fit between 18-20 yards of fabric. Please contact me for shipping costs for more than one listing.
International Shipping Fabric:
International postal regulations and costs are complex and I have tried to get you reasonable costs for shipping. The only way I can do this, however, is with the following conditions;
Flat Rate Priority Mail International-cannot be insured therefore the customer assumes all risk for loss in transit. The flat rate envelope can hold a maximum of 6.5 yards of fabric. For example, Flat Rate Priority Mail to Canada $19.95 and Australia $23.95. International shipping rates are difficult to figure out, but the Flat Rate Priority Mail Envelope seems to be the best deal and can fit up to 6.5 yards. The Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes can be insured and the large and medium boxes will fit between 18-20 yards of fabric. Please contact me for shipping costs for more than one listing.
Please use a Pay Pal account to purchase from Life as Quilt, which allows you to use a credit card, too.

The cotton quilt you're purchasing has been pre-washed which creates a soft texture and a puckered look that resembles an heirloom quilt. Your quilt is intended to be used as a bed covering and will withstand gentle wear and tear but please handle with care as you would any fine textile. Avoid direct sunlight to maintain color intensity and do not store in plastic bags.
Quilts may be vacuumed or simply shaken-out between washings to remove surface dirt. Wash quilts in cold water on gentle cycle with a gentle soap. Carefully handle wet quilts, as the fibers are most vulnerable when wet. Dry on low heat or dry flat.Dry cleaning is not recommended.
