Special Stitches / Techniques
• Popcorn: (Yarn over, insert hook, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook) 6 times. Yarn over and pull through all 7 loops on hook.
• Deep Single Crochet: Deep Single Crochet – insert hook below indicated St, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through both loops on hook (covers previous St).
• Whip Stitch: Using a hook or needle.
• Magic Loop

Note: This pattern is written from the toe of the stocking upward; however, I have split the pattern directions into three sections to avoid confusion in row counting (Toe, Heel, Shaft). The pattern is worked in rounds, except for the heel which is worked back and forth in rows. Color changes are encouraged to taste; however, I will not note when and where color changes can occur – choices are endless, and left to your imagination! Mind your stitch counts, especially on popcorn rows; your first popcorn in a row will make the second stitch of that row difficult to locate, and may therefore give a noticeable seam and the appearance of an inaccurate stitch count. Crochet Ties can be finished with pompoms or tassels using your favorite tools and techniques. Pattern for the ties are found on the last page of this pattern. I suggest using the Crochet Tie to hang.

I loved that the pattern worked out (I've purchased two other stocking patterns online and there were problems with the pattern). This stocking was a lot of fun to crochet (love popcorn stitch!), great instructions, quick project and it looks great!
