Item details

This is a PDF download of a sewing pattern. There will be 5 total files to download to get all of the pattern pieces. 3 for the dress and 2 for the tee which can be combined for ENDLESS combinations.

You will need to have:
computer/printer to download and print the pattern pieces
tape for assembly of pattern pieces
computer for reading the instructions (I don't suggest printing - to save paper and ink)
sewing machine
coordinating thread
1 yard of cotton lycra knit with at least 5% lycra content for sizes 18m-4/5, 1.25 yards for a size 6/7 and 1.5-2 yards (depending on sleeves) for a size 8/9 (I highly suggest recycling old t-shirts and clothing! Requires less fabric if you use some recycled pieces in there).
Measuring tools (ruler, measuring tape)
cutting mat/scissors
Sergers/overlockers are welcomed (I use mine) but not required.
Basic sewing knowledge
Measurements of your child/customer (very important!!)
Inspiration and excitement to dream up something beautiful :)

1/4 sewing allowance on all patterns unless otherwise noted. (3/8, the more proper allowance, works JUST fine ;) I just think 1/4 is easier to visualize in my head!)

This is a very versatile pattern meant to please any little girl in your life. My girls like ruffles one day and want to hang with the boys the next. As you can see, you can go full on twirly-girly or spice it up with "a little bit of rock'n'roll" as my daughter said when she picked out the fabrics for her black and blue soccer "uniform" :) The entire dress is constructed of knit so that it's stretchy and comfortable. Pattern pieces include the top (with instructions on how to upcycle/piece it together), drop waist (which can also be added to the top), full circle skirt for maximum twirl and 2/3 circle skirt for twirl with modesty (and saves a little fabric). My girls love using their old t'shirt and t'shirts that we find on clearance sales to dream up a new dress for every occasion. The instructions contain many explanations and step-by-step photo to walk you through the construction of this dress. This pattern can easily be lengthened or shortened to fit your needs and the apple of your eye that you are sewing for.

The tee is the perfect layering piece. Make a few in basic colors and layering those under your favorite CharlieMackADoodle dresses and the other dresses in your closet! OR use the options to add sleeves to your dress like the photos in the listing. To combine the two, cut the bodice from the Tummy-Topper Layering tee and combine with the drop waist and skirt from the MackADoodle pattern. Choose one or 2 of the many sleeve options and WA-LA you've weather proofed your summer dress.

Please respect the MANY hours that I have poured into this and do not copy, forward, re-use this pattern anywhere but in your own home. Dresses made from this pattern may be sold in small quantities in your home studios. You are not required to note my pattern, but if you chose to - thank you in advance :) I sure do appreciate it.

WARNING: this dress DOES Induce twirling. Please do not buy if you don't have leggings/shorts to wear underneath and/or seeing your loved ones twirl makes you dizzy ;)
