My son is a tarantula lover and earlier this year we acquired a Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula. In order to be more "okay" with having a large spider in my house, I entered into a Tarantula-Crash-Course of sorts and learned quite a bit. The more I learned, the cooler tarantulas got and I have to say, tarantulas are beautiful and awesome in their own way. In an attempt to educate people and promote tarantula tolerance I launched my own Tarantulas Are Beautiful Campaign via my Ravelry Group and came up with a few tarantula-inspired colorways. There are more than 900 types of tarantulas in the world, so I had lots of fun finding and learning about different types that could be easily translated to fiber.
This colorway was inspired by the Chilean Rose Hair (Grammostola rosea). I encourage you to check them out and let me know what you think!
