The River Dream motif for this hat and mitten set knitting pattern were inspired by the intricate geometric patterns from the shamanic textiles of the Indians in the Amazon basin of Peru. I wanted to capture a design that reflected both the river and the dreams and songs that give rise to the textile designs so each mitten mirrors the other. The variegated blue yarn adds depth to the design.
