Item details

**Great last minute Halloween costume**

When it comes to kids' costumes you can spend bucketloads ordering in the latest trademarked character costume. Or you can keep things minimal and inspire little imaginations to fly. This pattern will give you the option of bird or bat (with mask), flower, or fairy, keeping both the boys and the girls happy, in sizes 1, 3, 5, and 7. And you can make them as embellished or as simple as you like, meaning you can make one special outfit or you can zip through a small party’s worth in a day.

The fabric requirements for a single layer of wings are provided for each size as set out below. If you do the bat or the fairy, you will need one layer, or two if you are feeling creative. The bird and the flower require three layers - one in your child's size and one in each of the two sizes smaller than that (ie a size 7 bird will need a layer cut in each of sizes 7, 5, and 3). The fabrics you can use include felt, webbing or mesh, tulle, or any other type of fabric that doesn’t need to be hemmed.

Size x: 30cm (12”) x 60cm (24”)
Size 1: 36cm (14”) x 72cm (28.5”)
Size 3: 46cm (18”) x 92cm (36”)
Size 5: 55cm (21.5”) x 110cm (43”)
Size 7: 64cm (25”) x 127cm (50”)

All seam allowances have been included in the pattern pieces and are ¼” unless otherwise stated. All pattern pieces have been carefully and accurately hand drawn with plenty of easy to read labelling.

I am happy for you to sell your finished product as long as you don't mass produce the item and that you credit Teapot and Snail as the designer.

Didn’t know I had to use a previous pattern to use this.

Directions were a tad confusing at first but after a couple of readthroughs, it was pretty easy to cut a full size pattern. Just need to attach the elastic still and then I know my 3 year old will love the batwings!
