Take your glass art and jewelry to the next level! Sculptural, moldable GlasClay is a wonderful new dimensional medium for glass and jewelry artists. If you enjoy working with polymer clay, metal clays, or glass beadmaking and art you will love the artistic possibilities GlasClay opens up to you.
This listing is for one 50 gram jar of Opaque Sky Blue GlasClay, new and unopened in original packaging.
For three-dimensional, free-standing, hollow or solid objects, ”Sculptural” Opaque GlasClay ™ can be used to form beads, pendants, sculpture, or accents to be incorporated into other glass work. It will maintain structure, such as a hole for beads or hollow vessel structure when fired. This GlassClay can be hand-sculpted or used with molds to create amazing pieces of jewelry, beads, and art. As with all kiln worked glass, GlasClay™ can be fired at different temperatures to create a myriad of effects. It may be re-fired many times over and added to other GlasClay™ work or to other compatible glass objects. “Sculptural” Opaque GlasClay™ may be used with enamels, sheet glass & frit of like coe’s. This listing is for a full-sized 50 gram jar, not the 12-gram size, and is a great value.
To use, add distilled water, knead a few minutes, form your piece, dry in a food dehydrator and kiln fire using a programmable, digital controller. Both ceramic kilns and glass kilns may be used. A digital pyrometer with ramping sequence capabilities is needed. Always use a HEPA filter mask when mixing or handling powdered form to avoid inhaling any particles. Instructions included in box. This is a medium for professional and hobbyist artists and craftspeople, proper use must be learned. Please read instructions carefully before opening and follow all safety precautions. Not intended for use by children.
You may use other products with GlasClay™ to achieve some of the effects you are looking for. Enamels or additives such as mica powder can bring about some dramatic looks. Adding stones or metal findings that can tolerate the firing temperatures will also add dimension and texture to your work.
I carry this product in a variety of colors, including Opaque Red Opal, Opaque Black Opal, Opaque Antique White, Opaque Apple Jade Opal, Opaque Cobalt Blue, and Opaque Sky Blue

FEEDBACK: Please remember to leave positive (5-star) feedback on your purchase— thanks! My hard-earned 5 star rating means that anything less than 5 stars counts against my shop as NEGATIVE feedback. If you have any reasonable concerns about your order, please contact me via convo PRIOR to leaving feedback. I strive to provide 5-star service and satisfaction on every order by working hard to describe items accurately, fill orders correctly, meet my stated processing times, and providing responsive customer service. I have a high accuracy rate but if I ever do make a mistake or if there is a problem on your order, *please* tell me about it ASAP via convo so I can make it right for you! I always want to make things right for my honest and reasonable customers, especially when they ask me nicely. I reserve the right to refuse/cancel future orders from customers who leave negative feedback (less than 5 stars). Honest customers need not worry, but scammers (unfortunately there are a few bad apples out there) please note: Feedback extortion (trying to get something for nothing with bogus claims or implied threats of negative feedback) is against Etsy policy, will be reported, will get you nowhere in my shop, and may result in the suspension or permanent removal of your account from Etsy.
Invoices are available for you to print out from My Purchases. I do not include printed invoices in packages unless specifically requested to do so, so you do not need to ask me not to when sending a gift to recipient.
Gemstones and other materials are described to the best of my ability and as they were sold as to me. I purchase my gems and supplies at gem shows, online, and in stores. I do not independently test or grade stones or other materials, I describe them as they were sold to me and based on my own experience and knowledge working with many gemstones over the years.
