These adorable pixie hats never fail to bring a smile to people's faces! They can be worn with the point up or down, buttoned-up for warmth or unbuttoned for ease. They make a fantastic and easy handmade gift, and are a wonderful way to repurpose cast-off clothing.
I made the first one a few winters back for my then baby girl, and walking around my city with her wearing it was an instant way to spread cheer. My grade schooler loves hers, too, and they are equally cute on little boys.
This listing is for a PDF download for the hat pattern and detailed instructions with step-by-step photos. My favorite way to make the hat is a simple, quick-sew version cut from a secondhand sweater. You can also use this pattern to make a lined hat, or you can make the hat from any fabric you choose as long as it has a bit of stretch to it. This pattern is great for beginning sewers-- it can be done with a standard sewing machine, or even by hand-sewing alone.
Included are sizes from newborn to adult. (4 hat sizes). For the 5-adult size, I include two versions: one with the exaggerated gnome-worthy point, and also a more subtle version.
FREE shipping! The files will be available immediately after payment is received. You can either download them via the link provided after purchase or from the email sent to you by Etsy. The pattern has been made to easily print on regular 8.5 x.11 inch paper. Please contact me if you need help.
