The Colorway
Another Bordeaux for the Lady---Deep purpley kettle-dyed semisolid shades with some lighter purpley sections

Please note that while I've done my utmost best to create photographs that are as close as possible to the actual yarn color, individual monitors can vary. Please ask me if you have any questions.

The Fiber
What a lovely yarn! Fiber that's "caress your cheek soft," but with a slightly firmer hand than a merino, BFL (bluefaced leicester) is perfect for socks. Yet with its luster that shines through even the richest dye, its beautiful drape, and its great yardage, I find myself reaching for BFL again and again for knitting shawls and weaving.

*This yarn can be washed in the machine on a cool, gentle setting, however, for best results and longer garment life, I suggest a cool water soak with mild soap; lay flat to dry.

I use professional acid dyes for rich color and to help prevent color fading. After dyeing, I rinse thoroughly and finish with a wool wash. Some colors do have a tendency to continue to bleed (especially reds); a little vinegar added to your blocking soak should help alleviate this.

Also, please note that yarn is dyed in the home studio of a non-smoker and cat lover---me---and while my two cats aren't allowed to roll through the yarn, an occasional cat hair could possibly find its way onto your skein. I do my best to be sure it doesn't, but I just want you to know.

I have several skeins of Absinthe yarn, in various weights, fibers and colorways. They are all beautiful, and this one is no exception! The color is sumptuous and it feels wonderful in hand. I can't wait to get it on the needles! Attentive seller, carefully packed, and fast shipping too.

Zip or postal code

I ship via United States Postal Service (USPS) First Class (with tracking code) within the US. I ship International First Class for international orders, but I cannot add tracking confirmation at this time. Once I receive your payment, I'll ship as soon as possible within 3 business days, Monday through Friday.

Packages traveling to Canada and other International addresses can take from 10 days to 2 weeks to arrive.

I use PayPal shipping, so please ensure that your PayPal shipping address is correct.

I highly recommend insurance for large orders, as I cannot be responsible for packages once they leave my dye-stained fingers. Please convo me before purchase if you want extra insurance and I will set up a custom listing for you.

Additional policies

Please feel free to convo me with any other specific questions.

I do not currently do custom color work at this time, but if there is a colorway you'd like to see, let me know and I will contact you if I work something out and list it in the store.
