Description: Fans and flowers are drawn dynamically on polka-dot background. Instead of filling the entire fabric with patterns, the artist of this batik intentionally creates blue space on the sides of fabric, which brings out the beauty of fans and flowers. Every motif is decorated with fine lines and dots and you will know how skilled the artist is. This batik was dyed with special indigo powder invented by Professor Edia at Gadjah Mada University. The powder is 100% organic and eco-friendly, and also blue color lasts longer than normal liquid indigo dye.

*Important note about batik fabrics: The actual color of products may look different from that which can be seen on computer monitors and other electronic devices. Although we check to make sure that there are no tears or severe stains on our fabrics when we buy them from producers, there may be unevenly colored parts or minor pattern misalignments because we only choose fabrics that are dyed by hand. Please take a close look at the handcrafted patterns on our fabrics; the width of the lines and other pattern characteristics may not be exactly uniform, but these are special traits that can only be found in hand-made batik. *How to take care of batik fabrics: After we purchase our Batik directly from producers in Indonesia, we take care to wash the fabric and check for stains and fiber strength. Please avoid washing Batik fabric with other clothes in order to prevent color transfer. We recommend you wash Batik by hand so as to avoid machine damage and color degradation. Detergent with bleach can cause colors to fade, so we advise using a neutral detergent like you might use on delicate clothes (Indonesian crafters sometimes recommend using a light shampoo). If the fabric is not heavily soiled, there may be no need to use detergent at all. If you really want to use a washing machine, we recommend setting the wash, rinse, and spin cycles manually; instead of choosing auto, finish each cycle a little earlier than may be usual. The washing machine spin cycle can sometimes cause damage and create creases in Batik. Additionally, instead of using a machine dryer, it is advisable to hang-dry Batik somewhere away from direct sunlight, or use an iron on a low heat setting to dry the fabric.
