Item details

Agave victoriae-reginae is a living sculpture. Spiraling dark green leaves marked with white grow slowly to one foot tall and wide. Slow growth and exquisite beauty make this a prime single specimen. A mature specimen of Queen Victoria agave can cost as much as a thousand dollars.

After several decades, the plant will send up a 15' flower spike dense with reddish-purple blooms, but you may not see it in your lifetime. The plant in the first photo is easily 30 years old.

This agave is easy to grow and maintain. It thrives in full sun or part shade with almost no water, is hardy to at least 10 F°, and tolerates cold very well. It makes a striking garden specimen in zones 9-10 and is at home in a pot anywhere.

Average review
Seeds arrived and germinated quickly. Thank you!

Kept all of the seeds soaking in water and got most of them to germinate within a week! I've been moving the sprouted seeds into a moist paper towel until I'm able to free up more space in my seed flats, but for such a beautiful agave I'm thrilled with the germination success rate! Can't wait to have these beauties mature!
