PDF Textile Art: Mediaeval Tile Panel Tutorial Project, contemporary hand embroidery with mixed media
This is a digital file
A step by step guide to making an original piece of textile art, inspired by a mediaeval tile.
If you’ve ever wanted to branch out into more creative, innovative embroidery, here’s an easy way to get started!
Experimental mixed media techniques combined with simple hand embroidery make this design fun to create and give it an exciting aged, textured look:
- embossed copper
- French knots
- heat distressed felt
- hand dyed thread
- metallic paint
The main stitched piece measures about 16cm (6.25") square, and is mounted on a decorated 21cm (8.25") square of handmade paper.
The designer, Anne Honeyman, has had over 40 contemporary embroidery projects published in print magazines. She is experienced not just in creating original projects like this, but also in guiding embroiderers with different levels of experience through them in easy steps.
