Emily - a dressable rag doll with braids and freckles (Dress Up Bunch, girl, softie, doll clothes)
This is a digital file
She’s spunky and fun and loves to play outside. And she loves the freckles she gets from playing outside. :-)
She doesn’t like it when her hair gets in her face so she always wears it in braids. Last year even her bangs were too much so she cut them off completely – right at the roots! She loved it, but her Mom didn’t – so now she’s grown them out again. :-)
Her favorite books are the Ramona Quimby series and her favorite food is a baked potato with lots of butter. Yum!
Emily is one of The Dress Up Bunch and can share clothes with everyone else in the group. Fun!
Emily has weighted hands and feet for excellent flop, arms and legs that will go in any direction for great play and easy dressability, and plenty of cuteness!
Emily is also very easy to make. I designed the pattern special that way. :-)
What You Get
* full-sized pattern for Emily and a set of easy play clothes (shorts and a shirt) – no enlarging needed
* detailed instructions and lots of step by step photos – you’ll never feel lost or wonder if you’re doing it right
* links to videos teaching you all the skills you’ll need to complete the project
What You’ll Need
* 1/2 yard skin-colored fabric
* 2 sheets wool felt for her hair
* embroidery thread for the face (I used Sulky 12wt. cotton thread in black #1005)
* plastic pellets
* polyfill stuffing
* 2 9mm safety eyes
For Emily’s play clothes:
* less than 1/4 yard fabric each for a shirt and shorts
* 3 9mm snaps or 4 inches of 3/8″ hook & loop tape
* 12 inches 3/8″ elastic
Emily is shown wearing a dress made from a separate pattern (see the Dress Up Bunch section). The dress pattern is NOT included with your doll – but that doesn’t mean she has to go naked. :-) Instead you get the pattern for a shirt and a pair of shorts like the ones Violet (the doll with curly purple hair) is wearing in the additional photos.
Emily is 17 inches tall from head to toe – 11 inches when sitting.
I designed Emily to be very easy to make – a great project for beginners. All the parts are nice and roomy for easy turning and stuffing, they all tuck easily inside the body for the final assembly, and there’s a nice straight back seam for turning and stuffing that’s easy to sew up by hand. If you know how to use your sewing machine you can make Emily.
Emily is a PDF pattern. You’ll receive a link to download it immediately after your order is complete. Instant gratification! But you do need to be patient while the file downloads. It’s a BIG file – step by step photos for a doll, a shirt and a pair of shorts is a lot of photos – and that makes for a big file.
While you’re waiting for that file to download – take a look at some of Emily’s friends in The Dress Up Bunch. You can see just a few of them in the extra photos.
Make Emily today! And then make some more friends from The Dress Up Bunch. And some clothes they can all share. :-)
Like everything at Shiny Happy World – you can sell items you make with this pattern, as long as you are making them yourself.
