Item details

Lovely antique First Holy Communion certificate, signed by priest at St. John's Catholic Church in Detroit in 1901. The little boy also made his confirmation that day, according to the beautiful handwriting.

The colors on this 8 x 10 certificate are rich and beautiful. A really nice piece of religious/Catholic/Detroit history.

I will ship the least expensive method via the U.S. Postal Service to keep your costs down, but am willing to consider special arrangements. It might seem counterintuitive, but often the quickest method is also the least expensive. Shipping prices are estimated to the U.S. coasts, so please message me BEFORE buying if your item will be shipped to Hawaii or Alaska, so I can determine a price. Please message me BEFORE you buy an item if you're going to need special or expedited shipping so I can determine the cost. I try to mail items within one to three days.

Furniture items over certain dimensions and weight will be shipped via Greyhound Package Express, unless other arrangements are made; some other carriers can be much more expensive. Local pickup also can be arranged for large items _ some are in Illinois and others in Michigan _ as long as you bring the muscles. I will contact you if you buy a large item that resides in the same general area to offer that option.

Shipping costs include postage and packing materials, though I do try to recycle boxes and other materials when possible to keep your costs down. It's not our policy to make money on shipping, so we'll refund shipping and material overages.

Payments

I am happy to put an item on hold for people who know they want to buy it. The general hold time is 12 hours, but that can be extended in individual circumstances. Please don't ask me to hold an item if you're not sure and just want it available in case you don't find something else.

Returns & exchanges

Items are considered sold unless they are broken or damaged in shipping. Buyer should retain damaged packaging materials and the item in order to make a claim.
