Item details

50 Ribbon end crimps, necklace clasp, gunmetal gray, ribbon connector, 16mm x 5mm, craft supplies, jewelry findings

Dark gunmetal gray ribbon end crimps/clamps. The crimps hide the frayed ends nicely and have teeth to hold the ribbon securely. Excellent for making choker necklaces, key chains, name tag holders, wristlets, bookmarks etc. The crimps have a nice waffle weave pattern and a dark antique silver tone color. Photos #3 and 4 are examples of attached crimps.

The top loop is used to attach your own embellishments or closures for choker necklaces etc. Perfect for those unique one of a kind creations you love to make.

I have found that the easiest way to attach the crimp is to close the crimp most of the way. Insert the ribbon into the partially open slot, center the ribbon from side to side, then slowly pinch the crimp together tightly on both ends. This is optional but, I like to dip the ends of the ribbon in white glue (like Elmers) and let it dry before attaching the crimp this helps prevent the ends from fraying.

FAQs

Yes whenever possible. Please message me with what you need before you purchase and I will let you know if I can make it work for you.

FOR HAND STAMPED METALS: Do not swim, bathe etc while wearing. It will hasten the fading of the letter darkening. If you like, you can carefully redefine the lettering with an ultra fine point permanent ink pen. The finer point, the better. Be careful to keep the ink in the lettering as it may not come off if you boo boo and miss the lettering. Copper and brass (including coins) and many other metals will darken and tarnish with exposure to body acids, oxygen and sulfur, this is normal. Storing in an air tight container or tightly closed ziploc bag will help slow the process. When your jewelry starts to darken or tarnish, clean very gently with non-abrasive cloth.

HAND STAMPED METALS:

Hand stamping metal is not engraving. It is done by hand one letter or character at a time using a hammer and a metal letter/design stamp. This means that no two pieces are identical and they are not be intended to be "perfect." There will be variations in letter orientation, spacing, etc from what you see in the photos. I can not stamp on the back of the metal unless noted in item description. The stamping done on the front of the metal is often obvious on the back of the metal and the softer the metal the more obvious it is. This is not a flaw, just the nature of hand stamping. Hand stamping is a unique art, and it is impossible to duplicate exact replicas. All metals will have some degree of imperfection which is normal. Aluminum in particular is a soft metal and acquires scratches, nicks etc. These should not be considered imperfections, but rather a characteristic of the one of a kind uniqueness of your item.

Care instructions
For hand stamped metals.

Gently clean with a microfiber cloth or a jewelry cleaning cloth.

Do not swim, bathe etc while wearing.

I use a lot of coins for my creations. Please note that even new coins especially pennies, have flaws and may not be perfect. They don't make them like they use to.

SEA GLASS FAQS:

Although I do have a small amount of genuine sea glass, most of my sea glass is man made (cultured). It is machine tumbled for a week or more in water and tumbling grit. The glass I use is from hand cut, broken vintage and modern glass, jars, vases, perfume and other bottle bottoms, necks rims and any other glass I like. Much/most of it is not flat and some of it is textured. I am able to provide a wider variety of colors than genuine sea glass. Most of the nicely colored real sea glass is long gone.

A lot of what you find that says it is "genuine sea glass", is questionable. Several colors of genuine sea glass are rare to very rare and often tiny, and one person is not likely to find multiples of the same rare color. Most genuine sea glass is not flat, especially on both sides.

Real sea glass??? Be very wary, of the following colors offered, and especially if more than one piece is being offered by the same person. Much of it is tumbled just like my cultured sea glass.

Real sea glass rarity guide:

White and brown, most common.
Shades of amber and golden amber, less common than brown.
Green, some are common and some are not. Lime and sea foam are less common.
Purple, amethyst, rare
Opaque white-milk glass, rare.
Cobalt, cornflower blue and aqua, rare.
Pink, rare.
Gray, ultra rare
Teal, ultra rare.
Black, ultra rare.
Yellow, ultra rare.
Red, ultra rare.
Turquoise, ultra rare.
Orange, ultra, ultra rare.
