The illusion elephant is only there when you look at the blanket from the side. When you look straight at the knitting you will only see stripes.
The pattern includes large and small charts plus a version for tablets so you can use whichever suits you best.
The blanket shown was knitted in DK yarn and measures 81 cm x 104 cm (32” x 44”). You can easily adjust the size of the blanket by adding, or subtracting, rows and stitches around the elephant. The size will be different if you choose to use a different thickness of yarn.
Illusion knitting is extremely easy to do. It only requires basic knit and purl stitches.
The first photo shows what you see from an angle; the second photo shows what you see straight on.
