Item details

Excellent core wool for Needle Felting..by far! My favorite! Use core wool for needle felting for a strong base for your sculptures. Great gift. Waldorf. Colors: black, chestnut, gray and tan. Each is about 3 feet long or more for a total of 12 feet +. One color is enough for the 4 to 5 " size dogs shown in my shop. Photo shows the amount and a cute dog felted with my black and chestnut colors.
>>>I use this wool for ALL of my sculptures<<<

If you have been felting merino for bases you will be AMAZED at how fast this core wool is. Try it
with a #36 coarse needle or #38 star needle for speedy felting. This wool leaves NO needle holes! Great with my assorted alpaca.

This listing is for 1 1/2 oz of 4 colors. Fills a 7 by 8 inch quart bag. Makes several small projects.

Romney wool is a beautiful wool with a lovely crimp and soft sheen. It felts up very quickly and it forms a strong core that will easily support your felted creations!
It is a great wool for beginners and experienced felters will wonder how they felted without it!
I use ONLY romney wool for all of my cores.
You'll love it!

FELTING TIP #1-Always start your sculptures with a firm base. The core strength makes your sculpture long lasting! I usually spend 2 hours needle felting the core! I make it firm enough to anchor the furry topcoat.

Please read my feedback for replies on my lovely fiber.
This wool is from a non-smoking studio with no pets.

SHIPPING:
Shipping is by priority mail in the US with full insurance coverage and tracking for safety and peace of mind. More than one item can be shipped together and they will be shipped in a sturdy box.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
International:
VAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. Also please know, international shipping can sometimes take longer due to customs. I can only track packages until they leave the U.S.. In this case you will need to contact customs if there is a shipment delay.
OUTSIDE THE U.S.? Please be aware that you may be charged additional taxes and fees to have your package delivered, depending upon your country's customs laws (UK buyers are usually charged VAT and handling fees for purchases over £15) Sorry, customs forms cannot be marked as gifts or have the value lowered as that is illegal.
>>>>>>>>>>>SHIPPING DELAYS<<<<<<<<<<<<
I am not responsible for delays in shipping due to heavy postal volume during holiday seasons, bad weather, strikes or customs delays. These of course are all out of my control. Also UNinsured items are at the risk of the buyer.
***US BUYERS:
If your package has gone missing please let me know and I'll do everything I can to track it down. All packages are shipping in the US with tracking.
***INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:
Please wait at least 4 to 6 weeks BEFORE thinking it's lost. It could be stuck in customs somewhere.. There is no way to track international packages through USPS
***CANADIAN BUYERS:
Canada Post is currently downsizing and eliminating many of the smaller post offices and cutting back on staff and hours as well so that will have an impact on mail delivery. Even letters are taking 2 weeks to get back and forth these days.
ORDER TIME FRAME
**************************************************
I will be making your order in about 6 months from the date of final payment.
💕 I do make exceptions for special dates. Please contact me. I appreciate your patience and understanding. All of my sculptures are handmade by myself only. Sorry for the delay but my sculptures are in high demand and I always have an order list. SOMETIMES IT IS LONGER IN BUSY SEASONS. My Monthly Order lists are NOT delivery times. 💕 I'm sure that you will be delighted with your sculpture and think that it was worth the wait! I work alone and each sculpture is created by me.
I also take care of photography, editing. ordering supplies, bookkeeping, packaging, shipping, advertising and all aspects of running a shop.
I am also the primary caregiver for my handicapped husband and at times he needs more of my time which also can delay shipment on orders.
>>Payment or Deposit must be made at time of purchase to get on my order list<<
**************************************************
>>>>CUSTOM RUSH ORDERS<<<<
I do have an option for rush orders if you are desperate! I do have to drop everything to make a rush sculpture. Because of this there is a $100 fee for this service! This does not include any expedited shipping unless paid for separately. Delivery on a rush order is generally about a month. Thank you!
*****************************************************
Can you add my pets FUR to the sculpture?
Yes! As long as it is at least 2 inches long, clean, not matted, without bugs or
fragrances.
*****************************************************
Can you change a sculpture?
Sometimes! I don't mind minor changes, but if you change your mind and want a radical change from the original agreed upon design, there will be an additional charge based on the work involved, if even possible. Many, many hours are involved in a sculpture and they are not easy to change.
*****************************************************
Can you repair a sculpture that got chewed by my pet?
Yes I have repaired several sculptures. My minimum charge is $25. This includes materials and labor. Also I have to take time to take new photos, edit, and send them for approval. Sometimes a sculpture is too damaged for repair without staring over. Please be careful with your Sculptures as they are not toys. Keep them away from pets and children.
*****************************************************
>>>>>>>HOLIDAY SHOPPERS<<<<<<<
Will it be ready for Christmas?
After October you are taking a chance on ordering for the holidays. I receive orders year round and a large amount for the holidays so some have to be passed on to January or so. I don't rush my work and each can take several days of work to complete. My advice is to order as soon as you can! It is May now and I already am getting orders for December!!
I specialize in CUSTOM Portrait Sculptures of YOUR PET! I always have a waiting list, so please order as soon as you can. Send me photos of you favorite pet or breed, and I will make a little replica for you. These are firmly felted sculptures that will last and can become family heirlooms. Not toys, but works of art made for the discerning collector. Yes, they are made for you, from the heart!
**Can I blog about GOURMET FELTED?
sure!! feel free to use my photos too but please give proper credit to me and link back to my store. Thanks!
>>>CARING FOR NEEDLE FELTED ITEMS<<<
Long coated fur SHOULD NOT be combed or brushed. It is better to use a large needle to gently "comb' the fur. Trim any strays instead of pulling out.
As you may have guessed, keeping them behind glass is the beat way to protect them Of course many people don't have that available.
I have read to use a dampened cloth, blower duster, or tape.
DON"T!
Don't ever use moisture with them .You'll end up with some of the dust sticking to the dampened fiber.
A blowing device will also embed more fiber/dust deeper than it will blow off.
Tape is a good way to raise a little bit of fuzz, so unless you want a fuzzy look on a formerly smooth coat, I'd avoid tape. It could also pull out fur!
It also won't reach the dust settled down into the fibers because unlike mohair, which has a backing/base, there is no 'base' to needle felted items.
You want to suck the dust off so use a vacuum . You can use a full sized one, with a sock or hosiery rubber-banded over the wand head. And then spread your fingers out over the end. In case anything should be lightly needled or lightly attached, the sock and fingers should stop anything from going into the vacuum.
If you handle your pieces a lot, be sure to wash your hands every time before touching them. The oils in your hands won't be obvious, but over time will leave a film which will hold dust even firmer. So all in all, it is easier to keep them clean rather than trying to clean them later.
****************************************************
Will you send me regular emails and updates on my custom order?
After your order has been placed I send two messages.
1) a confirmation of payment of your order
2) an email showing completed photos of your sculpture for approval.
This means there will be several weeks of no communication for each order. This does not mean your order is forgotten! If it was paid for and confirmed, you are definitely on my order list. If you are curious about the status of your order you are welcome to message me, however, please understand that answering frequent questions and giving detailed updates on every piece is impractical for me. To do so would mean increasing the price of these sculptures significantly to compensate for that amount of time spent out of the studio and on the computer. To keep these beautiful sculptures affordable, I do not send more than the minimum amount of emails required for an efficient transaction. More time in the studio means more time and care spent on your piece.
Thanks for your patience and understanding!
