This stencil can be used with common paints or joint compound for raised effects.Stencil a tree on your walls? You bet!
Our Raised Plaster Arched Tree Stencil Set was created to give the appearance of arched or bending trees on your walls.
An arched trunk section, as it is repeated, allows you to create any degree of arch you prefer. End branch and side leafy branches let you "weep" your branches clear to the ground if you like.
Durable 14 mil mylar lets you use this stencil over and over to create a whole wall of trees like I did without worry that the stencil will fall apart on you.
All of the stencils you will need are in this set. Each are separate elements so that you can build your tree any way you choose, or do them just as I did mine.
Create straight trees by simply flipping the arched trunk over each time you repeat it!
All of the stencils you need are included in this set:
(Each stencil is a single stencil)
Tree Base: 22 1/4" x 3 1/3"
Repeatable Arched Trunk: 14 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Small Occasional Branch: 5 1/4 x 3 1/4
Arched Side Branch: (also used as tree top) 21" x 2 1/4"
Leafy Branch: 21" x 16 1/2"
Occassional Leafy Branch: 9 x 4 1/2"
Easy instructions included
Raised designs are EASY with our beautiful stencils!
Use common joint compound (also called Wall Mud). It comes pre-mixed for you in a bucket and is available in the paint section of most home and hardware stores and acts just like frosting.
Just get some on a small trowel or putty knife and spread evenly over the top of the stencil, lift the stencil and there's the design! It's a cinch and a total ball! Now just let it dry.
Either paint the color of your wall as a simple raised design or paint with craft or stencil paints.
Joint compound can be pre-tinted if you choose or Color washes can also be done with wall glaze.
Stencil is laser cut of 14 mil, heavy mylar and comes with complete instructions and full color photo of the finished design.

What is a plaster stencil?
Plaster stencils are like any other stencil, but laser cut in a super durable, 14 mil mylar that holds up to repeated troweling. Much more durable than 10 or 12 mil mylar stencils. Professionals prefer them! Thinner stencils can be used with plasters, but don’t hold up very well. Trust me, I’ve tried it and that’s the reason I chose heavy duty 14 mil for all of my plaster stencils!
How to stencil with paint:
Tape the stencil to the wall or project where desired. Stencil adhesive can be used to secure the stencil further, but I find I don’t need it.
Using either a stencil paint roller or stencil brush, get a SMALL amount of paint on to the brush or roller then wipe off all excess on to a paper towel or newspaper.
When stenciling with a brush, use a circular motion with light pressure starting at the outside edge of each stencil opening and work your way toward the center. This will give you a beautiful “airbrushed” look.
With the roller, use a light pressure when rolling over the stencil openings until you see how much paint is actually being deposited. Adjust the pressure as needed.
Remove the stencil right away.
How to stencil with joint compound or plasters
It’s easy! If you can frost the top of a cake, you can create raised designs on just about anything.
You will need:
Bucket or container of pre-mixed joint compound
2”-3” wide plastic scraper.
Tape the stencil to the area intended.
Open the bucket of joint compound and get a little on your scraper.
Hold the stencil openings down as you smooth the joint compound over the stencil openings. Holding your scraper at a 45 degree angle as you spread, is perfect!
Continue until all openings are completely covered.
Un-tape the stencil. Holding down one edge with one hand, gently peel the stencil back with the other to reveal the raised design.
Now, let it dry before doing another repeat next to it (if applicable).
Add color to your raised design by either pre-tinting the joint compound with any water based paint, or you can replace the stencil over the design (once it’s dry) and use a stencil brush to color the design.
