Item details

PDF Tutorial for a naturally dyed silk scarf. Two for ten.

You will get detailed insrtuctions with pictures on how to make two of my most popular scarves:
1. Green georgette wrap and
2. Brown - purple chiffon scarf.

You will end up with two pieces of unique and original eco printed silk.

These One- of-a-kind scarves were so popular on Etsy and among my friends, that I decided to write the instructions for anyone who wants to try and make them themselves.

They are made using natural dyeing technique, so keep in mind your results will be somewhat different. There are never the same shades and patterns achieved. It is not possible with this technique, so your piece will again be a unique and wonderful creation.

No chemical are used in the process, so it is safe to make in your home, just make sure you don't collect plants that may be poisonous, which will be specific to the part of the world where you live.

The instructions are offered at a fraction of the price, so get your creative juices going, dig in, have fun in the process, and send me a picture of your finished scarf!

I know it will be wonderful!

You can wear it as an evening wear, on top of your little black dress, as a shawl to throw over your shoulders when you go out for those cool summer evenings, or simply as an everyday accessory on top of your t-shirt and jeans. Enjoy!

You will receive your pattern as an instant PDF attachment as I receive your payment. No shipping costs!

FAQs

Please take a look at the individual scarf/fabric dimensions. Many times I can adjust the size to your needs. Let me know what you would like.

In case of custom orders I will do all I can to accomodate your wish. However, due to the nature of eco printing process, I can not guarantee the outcome and the item may differ in colour and pattern from what you have seen in my shop. By ordering a custom made item you accept the risk and agree to the terms.

SILK: Cool hand wash separately in baby shampoo, add a quarter cup of vinegar to the final rinse to refresh colors. Expect the color to run slightly during wash, as with all silks. When not in use for a longer period of time, store in an airtight container with a fragrant soap to deter insects. NUNO FELTED ITEMS: Luke warm hand wash separately in mild shampoo. Do not rub or wring, just soak for 10 -20 min and then lightly stir by hand and squeeze gently. Add a splash of hair conditioner to the last rinse. Gently squeeze water out, pull at the ends to straighten, roll in a towel and dry flat overnight. When not in use for a longer period of time, store in an airtight container with a fragrant soap to deter insects.

Let me know if you'd like your item gift wrapped and I'll be happy to do that free of charge.

I am happy to consider selling to shops. Conditions need to be individually discussed. Contact me with your needs or ideas.

None. The only dyeing agent applied to my silks is pure natural vinegar. The silks are sometimes dyed in reactive iron, aluminium or copper pots, but they are thoroughly washed and rinsed after the dyeing process is finished.

Yes, I only work with pure, natural silk and merino wool.
