A gorgeous toasty brown roving medium range of tones created by blending beautiful Genopalette moorit merino fleeces with deep fawn huacaya alpaca from Kuska Paku (Mr. Spock!!!) and natural honey gold tussah silk, 64/25/11. This listing is for 4 ounces.
This is the brown version of our blended merino rovings. We don't have a micron count on these fleeces but it feels like it is in the 20 micron range. Staple length was 4 inches. To enhance the color palette, we used natural colored tussah, a warmer honey color compared to tassar and a little deeper than the muga silk featured in another of our rovings. The alpaca is Spock's yearling fleece, logically speaking.
Was it obsessive on our part to make sure we had a moorit version of our merino blended roving? Of course it was. If they had natural fleeces in blue, green, and pink, I would be coming up with a way to do a blended natural color roving. Nonetheless, we think you will find this roving to provide the perfect vehicle for that very special knitting project.
We are very proud to bring you fleeces from small US family farms. When you receive your fiber, it will be carefully packed to assure that it is lofty and ready to spin.
