This is the second pattern in my Ceylon series which were conceived while cycling around the island of Sri Lanka (formerly called Ceylon). They are a mock cable technique using increases and decreases rather than a cable needle. The Fingerless Gloves have two options: a lacey version and a solid version simply by interpreting the pattern chart differently.

Ability to understand charts, work in the round, increases and decreases.
Any light fingering yarn. Shown above: Sericin Silkworks Mink Merino Silk Laceweight available at www.sericin.etsy.com and Shall We Knit? Waterloo Ontario Pictured gloves were knit in small size, 2.25mm needles, 4 pattern row repeats. Finished circumference was 16cm/6.5”, length 19.5cm/7.75”. 150m/165yds of yarn was used. Sample gauge 40sts over 4”/10cm or 58rows over 4”/10cm.
Suggested Needle Size
2.0 mm to 2.5mm according to gauge and size. 5 double pointed needles or 2 circular needles as preferred. Stitch markers if needed.
