The Tear Drop Hat has a rounded, contoured crown. It is easily decorated according to your own preferences. Our lavender hat is shown dressed with lavender tulle, white feathers and purple lilac flowers. The white hat has dotted white lace, white feathers and a white flower. We added a white satin bow with long tails on the back.

These hats were pinned to the hair to hold them in place. We have chosen to sew two bobby pins on the underside so no pins are visible when the hat is on the doll''s head. Barrettes or hair clips can as easily be used.

The Regency Poke Bonnet has a gathered, white lace, trimmed brim, decorated band and gathered bonnet crown. Again, this hat may be decorated in any way that you choose. There are no set rules for the bonnets as women routinely re-arranged the decorations on their hats and bonnets to create a new look. Reference to Lydia Bennet :) Our bonnet has a large white flower with an organza and satin ribbon hand sewn around the band.

The bonnet ties are made using satin ribbon that tie into a bow under the chin.

This is a fun project that allows the imagination to take charge.
There is nominal machine sewing on the Tear Drop hat. The gimp trim is hand sewn. A glue gun attaches the feathers and flowers.

The Poke Bonnet requires a bit more machine stitching. It is not too difficult but you are still working with a small scale pattern. A glue gun makes adding decorations easier.

I made the Tear Drop hat to compliment a bustle dress. This hat was really easy. And the instructions were great. The pattern is only limited to what you want to adorn it with. I would recommend this pattern.
