Item details

This ribbon is so violently orange, and the royal purple banding stripes is so clear, that it will leave you with retina burn! It is watermarked, so it has a lovely flowing pattern woven into it which is evident in one of the photos but difficult to photograph.

I found these several years ago on Brick Lane, at the flea market in London. They were already cut into these roughly 1.75 yard (a generous 1.5 meter) lengths.

I'm only guessing at an 80s date due to the color. They could be a bit older, or a bit newer. The quality is very good. Another NOTE - color in the photos is a little bit too neon, but it was difficult to adjust in photoshop. This ribbon is very bright, but not neon.

4.5" total width (purple bands are 1/2"), and each roll is roughly 1.75 yards.

I don't know if this is a rayon or silk fiber. The sheen is very lustrous. It seems to be woven with the proper 'open' edge to do swirling or shaping (no heavy selvedge thread to stabilize it).

I've removed the rubber bands but there may still be slight 'denting' which would need to be steamed out when you use the ribbon. No hard pressing 'though, so that you don't damage the watermarking.

Condition is Nearly New, unused vintage.

I will ship to most countries, but if you're not certain please feel free to contact me before you purchase. Unfortunately, insurance through the US Postal System is not available except at the most expensive shipping rates for mailing internationally.

If my shipping cost estimate was over the actual cost by more than $2.00, I will refund the overage to you.

I'm happy to combine shipping for items if you purchase them at the same time.


Payments

I accept payment via PayPal and Etsy Direct Checkout.

If you choose to cancel a purchase before I've shipped it, I will refund your full purchase price plus any shipping fees that you've paid. Cancellations after shipping will be handled on a case by case basis, and please convo me for a solution.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)

  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Conditions of return
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
Additional return information
My items are sold 'as is', in vintage, pre-owned and / or used condition. I try to describe any problems that I find, and I will only refund if I have grossly misrepresented the condition or size of an item. In this situation, I will refund only after the item has been returned to me (and received) in the condition that it was shipped in.

Etsy policy requires that Sellers be responsible for refunds due to shipping loss or damage. Given this reality, I am adding appropriate insurance to all shipping prices in order to protect both of us. For Priority Mailing, this would mean any item valued over $50 US. (As I am selling unique items, I'm not able to offer an identical or similar replacement, obviously.)

In the rare case that your parcel arrives damaged, or the item has been damaged in transit, you MUST take photos of the damage and upload them for me ASAP, in order for me to file an insurance claim. I'm sorry, but no photos = no refunds.
