Item details

We believe that with all the time you take to crochet something by hand, you should really love the yarns you choose!

We chose this yarn because we fell in love with the colorway. The many shades of green mixed with pops of brown, yellow, and magenta just screamed "Spring" to us, and we knew it would be the perfect complement to our Bird of Paradise costume.

Casablanca is an all-natural blend of 57% wool, 24% raw silk, and 19% mohair. Serious crocheters will appreciate that this yarn is Z-twist, which means it won't split as you work with it as some yarns tend to (if you are right-handed, anyway).

NOTE: This yarn has been DISCONTINUED by the manufacturer, so once it sells out I will not be able to order any more.

Please note that this is NOT machine washable; hand wash only.

Made in China.

IS THIS YARN FAIR TRADE? I personally spoke with a representative from Cascade Yarns to find out the answer to this question. Cascade Yarns is a family owned business founded in the 1980s with the mission to provide quality yarns at a fair price, but these fair prices do not come at the expense of the quality of life for the workers who make them. Cascade works with small, family-owned factories around the world and has personally visited these factories to ensure both fair working conditions and quality yarn standards. Furthermore, by purchasing from my Etsy shop, your dollars will help to support my own family here in the US.

My handling time is 1-3 business days (though I strive for 1 day). For transit time, USPS has handy interactive maps for you to determine how long your package will take to arrive at your address.

For regular shipping, use this map and code 201 as the originating point:

For Priority shipping, use this map and code 20110:

I regret that I can no longer offer international shipping due to the fact that tracking becomes questionable after the package leaves the US border and I cannot guarantee that your package will arrive safely.

If time is of the essence, please let me know so I can ensure speediness. I aim to get orders out the next business day, but I work from home between homeschooling my daughter, so occasionally an order gets delayed a day or two if life gets in the way and I don't know a rush is needed. If you get in touch with me and place your order before noon Eastern time, I can usually get your order in the mail for you the same day.

Use the links to the maps above to determine transit time to your address and add one day to it (unless you've received confirmation from me that I will ship your package the same day). This is the fastest I can get your package to you. If you happen to live in the DC or Baltimore Metros, shipping time with Priority Mail is 1 day.

For your convenience, I offer both regular (First Class) and Priority Mail shipping options. Priority Mail includes up to $100 of insurance for free, in case your item gets lost in the mail. If you are concerned about your item getting lost, please select Priority Mail. I will not be held responsible for items lost in the mail when shipped with the First Class option; choose First Class shipping at your own risk.

Kits and handmade items are sent via Priority Mail by default.

HANDMADE ORDERS: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before work begins. This deposit goes toward covering the cost of my materials. The remaining balance must be paid before the finished item ships. (See also my Refund Policy.)

My home studio is also home to cats, dogs, and various small animals. While the studio itself is a pet-free zone, my products may have been exposed to pet hair and dander in transit to and from the studio. Please keep this in mind if you have pet allergies. I do my best to keep the exposure to a minimum.
