Item details

A skein of rustic, chunky weight handspun Merino wool yarn in slightly variegated medium sky blues, with occasional bits of darker, violet-tinged blue and hints of green. Thick and thin two-ply with fluffy neps here and there. (Please note that the photos may not accurately reflect color on all monitors, though they're as accurate as I could make them on my own computer screen...) You may also find a few tiny bits of grass or hay in this skein, which can be picked out.

This yarn was spun and plied on my primary partner in spin, my Kromski Sonata spinning wheel, then kettle-dyed with acid dyes and washed before being stored with the other yarn waiting for homes.

If you need more yardage, here's another skein of the same wool, dyed in a similar color: https://www.etsystudio.com/listing/186483042/handspun-merino-wool-yarn-variegated

Perfect for a variety of creative endeavors, including knitting, crocheting, weaving, needle felting, and altered art. Also suitable for petting and squishing, starry-eyed gazing, and Zen contemplation.

--- Important notes ---

Your yarn will arrive as a skein (a.k.a. hank) tied in multiple places, unless you tell me otherwise. If you'd like it wound into a center-pull ball/cake, please make a note in the "notes to seller" area when you check out.

Also, please be aware that this yarn was produced in a cat-friendly environment. While the cats aren't allowed to play with the fiber or to wander at will through the craft room, and yarn and fiber are stored in boxes away from direct cat contact, there is the possibility you may find a stray cat hair has latched onto your yarn. You know how cats and their mischievous hair can be, right? ;)

--- Care and feeding of your yarn ---

Hand-wash only, alone or with like colors. (Some color bleeding is possible.)

To wash your yarn or items made from it: Soak in lukewarm to cool water with wool wash or delicates wash for 15 minutes or more. Gently squeeze out excess water, then soak again in rinse water of the same temperature. Squeeze out excess water again, then hang in an airy, waterproof place to drip and dry. (You may want to spin it dry with a salad spinner or roll it gently in a towel before hanging it, to speed the drying process.)

Please do not machine wash, agitate the yarn while washing, or wash in hot water ... unless, of course, you actually want it to felt. ;) (Also, hot water could cause any dyes present to consider making an escape run.)

We take all kinds of treasures, including Paypal, money orders, and personal checks. (If you pay by personal check, your item will be held for shipping until the check clears — a scalawag’s got to watch his coffers, after all.)

Returns & exchanges

All repair, return and exchange packages must be shipped back to us with tracking numbers — 'cause everyone's safer that way, me hearties. ;)

If a piece of jewelry or shawl pin breaks in normal use, ship it back to us at your cost, and we'll fix it for free and send it back to you at our cost — pirates' honor! Do send us a message before shipping the item back to us, letting us know what happened to the item and what we need to fix. When shipping items back to us for repair, please package them securely, with padding, and with a tracking number.

If you'd like to exchange an item for an item of equal value, send us a message to let us know when you purchased the original item(s), what you're returning, and what you'd like to exchange the item(s) for. Package up the item(s) securely and with padding, if necessary, and don't forget to include a tracking number.

If you'd like to return something, send us a message to let us know what you're returning, when you bought it, and why you're sending it back. Then package it up securely (in the original packaging or something else that protects it from damage) and ship it back to us with a tracking number. As long as the item returns here in the
same condition we sent it in, we'll issue a full refund of the item price plus the original cost of shipping (but not the cost of shipping it back to us).
