This shawl pattern is a simple combination of a couple of lace designs giving it a soft flowing feel, and with the use of a lush colored superwash merino wool the softness doesn't end there. The main body is a 14 row, 10 stitch repeat, easily remembered even with my scattered brain. But don't let the written and charted pattern get too far from reach for those "Now where was I" times.
For this project I used KintPicks Swish DK yarn, 100% wool, 5 skeins, and the color is Conch.
The DK weight yarn and #7 needles gives this project a short start to finish time frame. If you want your lace stitches to really show off, use a wool or wool blend for the best blocking results.
I have prepared this pattern with both row by row written and charted instructions together.
Adjusting the length for your preference is easily accomplished by adding or deleting the pattern repeat row.
Materials needed for this project: DK weight yarn - 550 to 600 yds, #7 needles, stitch markers, stitch holder, tapestry needle.
This shawl is constructed in 2 pieces, joining the 2 with the Kitchener stitch. All the stitches used are easy and fairly basic in lace work. Only the Kitchener is one that might give you pause, don't be daunted, jump in and give it a try. Instructions for Kitchener are easily found on the internet as well as most knitting books have great pictorial tutorials.
