Item details

In this case, to be or not to be is not the question. In this case, the question is how have you and the people you love survived this long without an adorable little William Shakespeare to hold your pens, pencils, scissors, and dramatic aspirations?!

This crochet pattern provides detailed instructions and plenty of photos to help you make a Shakespeare to keep or give away. To follow the pattern, you'll need yarn in the colors shown (or the ones you prefer), a G hook, safety eyes, and a standard can or tin. In American terms, that's a 14.5 - 15 ounce can of beans or tomatoes or corn, to name a few examples. In metric terms, that's a can about 11 cm high and 7.4 cm across, which seems to be fairly standard across most of the world.

If for some reason you have no need to store pencils, pens, or dramatic aspirations, you can also stuff Shakespeare and make him into an ami. Instructions are included in the pattern.

As soon as you place your order, you'll receive an email with a link to the pattern. No waiting! It's yours anon!

**Again, this listing is for the PATTERN, not the finished Shakespeare!**

If you don't crochet and want a finished Shakespeare, please see this listing: https://www.etsystudio.com/listing/187219838/shakespeare-pen-cup

Clear instructions! I altered the shirt detailing a bit to make a sash for him instead. He's adorable. This was a fun project! Thanks!

This pattern was easy to follow and made a perfect going-away gift for two English-teaching colleagues who were moving on to other schools. I do love instant downloads!
