I enjoy playing with new lace patterns in small projects, like scarves. It gives me the opportunity to sample the pattern, different yarns and needle sizes. And sometimes I come up with something very pleasant, such as this scarf. I first fell in love with this lace from a sweater pattern in "The Art on Seamless Knitting."
My pattern is worked back and forth on straight needles with detail stitches done on both the front and the back sides, so every row keeps you attention. The pattern is easy to memorize after a few repeats and the length or width can be adjusted by changing the number of pattern repeats.
I have shown 2 different examples using 2 different yarns. The brown scarf is done using LB Collection Baby Alpaca, 300 yds., size #6 needles and was blocked to 7.5" by 73" to show off the lace stitches. The Aqua is a 100% cotton, 500 yd., size #6 needles and not blocked. The finished size on this piece is 8.5" by 66".
Lesson here is, have some fun, use something out of your stash, try different needle sizes, you might be surprised at what you come up with!
This pattern comes with both row by row written and charted instructions.
Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions, would love to hear from you.
Thank you for taking a peek at my shop.
