ABOUT CHIRI CLOUD 80s:
This fiber is selected from North American Vicugna pacos from Cloud Hollow Farm in Waldoboro, Maine and Snowmass Alpacas in Sandpoint, Idaho. It is processed into top at the Maine Top Mill in Waldoboro, Maine.
Vicugna pacos are Huacaya alpaca that exhibit the uniformity of the Chiribaya Vicugna pacos found at El Yaral, Peru. This includes a uniformity in color and in fleece characteristics. Variations in fiber diameter across the fleece is minimal and hairy patches are rare. Fleeces are very fine--16-18 microns!
Your purchase helps support the DNA and genomic research of Dr. Jane Wheeler of CONOPA, the Nunoa Project, the Camelid Identification System (CIS) database, and the Quechua Benefit. The Nunoa Project is committed to improving the lives of the native Quechua people through improved alpaca breeding stock and management practices, while also providing educational opportunities for veterinary students. CIS provides DNA testing and parental verification, which is critical to creating more Chiribaya type alpacas. The Quechua Benefit provides medical care to the Quechua in Peru and helps in the operation of the Casa Chapi children's shelter.
This is so special and the service was super too.

This fiber lived up to its name "Cloud". It is wonderfully soft. The color is a beautiful shade of light brown. It arrived on time.

Received, it's beautiful and soft, I'm looking forward to using this. I feel this is a very reasonable cost for an oz. I'm going to practice with this and save up for more.
