Arranged by Frank J. Smith, published by Theodore Presser out of Philadelphia and written by Mr. Tyler of the Chicago Record, this musical offering maintains the grand old traditions of opera but with "modern" subject matter. It says "To the New York University Glee Club" so I am assuming this piece was written expressly for the club. It would have been amusing in its' time, poking subtle but respectful fun at operatic tradition. In good condition, small rip in spine at top, and a triangular 'wound' at the top of the front cover. All pages present and in very good shape. On the back cover, a motto which says, "Music study exalts life". Imagine being able to mount an original production from 1924! You're touching musical history.
