This beautiful matching tam and mitts set, with their geometric patterning and gorgeous woodland shades, are perfect for autumn and winter wear.
Knitted in the round as one piece, they have a simple stranded charted pattern that is suitable for beginners and feature ribbed cuffs.
Elizabeth Woodville (1437 – 1492) was the wife of King Edward IV of England. She was known to be very beautiful and played a large role in the war of the roses. She was thought to have been a witch and have magical powers as a descendant of Melusine the water spirit.
The tam and mitts pattern can be purchased together or separately.
Tam: One size. Brim circumference 51cm/20”. To fit average head size 53-56cm/21-22”
Mitts: One size. 20cm/8” high and 20cm/8” circumference around hand at widest point (not including thumb).
Size of both can be changed by working at a slightly tighter or looser gauge.
Notions & Yarn:
DK weight yarn in amounts given (shown in Eden Cottage Yarns Bowland DK in shades Silver Birch (MC) and Dark Oak (CC) – 100% wool, 224 m / 245 yrds in 100 g)
Mitts – MC: 100 m / 110 yds; CC: 80 m / 90 yds
3.25mm/US 3 and 3.5mm/US 4 circular or double-pointed needles (or size needed for gauge)
1 stitch marker
small amount of scrap yarn
32 sts and 30 rows to 10 cm (4″) in stocking stitch

Returns & exchanges
To comply with EU legislation I need to advise you that by downloading the ePattern you are agreeing to these terms and conditions and that automatic rights to cancellation and a refund will no longer apply for purchased items once downloading has started; this is due to the nature of digital goods. If you wish to retain your automatic rights you need to wait 14 days before starting the download.
I will only refund on damaged items, they will have to be returned to me so I can return them to the manufacturer and I will either give a refund once they have arrived back or I will send a new batch to you. If for some reason you are not happy with your purchase please contact me, I will do my best to resolve the problem.
