Item details

This Bead Pulling Station is the workhorse of the immersion process developed by Joseph Spencer and advanced by Barbara Lewis in her book, "Torch-Fired Enamel Jewelry: a Workshop in Painting with Fire" named Best Craft Book of 2011 at Amazon.

It works like this: you place a bread pan filled with vermiculite or oil dry into the interior space of the Bead Pulling Station. The vermiculite provides a non-flammable cushion for your bead. You fire your bead or pendant on a mandrel. When you're ready to remove the bead or pendant from your mandrel, you simply place the mandrel in the "V" notch of the station and pull. This moves the bead off of the mandrel so that it can drop safely into the vermiculite, which serves as a nonflammable cushion.

Please check our listing for the bead pulling station "kit."

The Bead Pulling Station is protected by Utility Patent 8,470,399. Users of the bead pulling station should feel free to make beads and jewelry for personal enjoyment or for sale. TEACHING of the immersion process of enameling is strictly prohibited unless certified and licensed to do so.

Shipping is primarily by USPS, unless the customer prefers another carrier. An email will be sent to you when the item is shipped. I pride myself on fast shipping. Items will be shipped within 3-5 business days but may ship sooner.

Payments

Pay by Paypal is preferred, which should be made within three days of purchase. If you prefer to pay by check, unless I know you personally, I will wait for the check to clear before shipping. If you change your mind about a purchase, please cancel your order within 12 hours, simply because I ship as quickly as possible. All shipping will occur after payment is received.

Returns & exchanges

I want my customers to be happy with their purchase. If a piece is defective and I'm informed of this within 7 days of purchase, I will happily make the repair or provide a replacement and pay for shipping costs to and from.

Additional policies

I welcome custom orders. I use the beads and pendants I make in my own jewelry. So, you can always check barbaralewis.etsy.com for ideas on how to use my jewelry components. If you want a slideshow of my jewelry, please visit http://www.flickr.com/photos/barbaralewis/
