My first Tropical Fish quilt was for a king sized bed. My customer's husband's hobby was photographing fish in their natural habitat. This bed quilt was a present for him. From the fish that my customer chose to be in her quilt, I made this smaller quilt, in the photograph, and designed it as one of my earliest patterns. My quilt measures 37" x 42". The pattern includes really good instructions, and drawings to use to make the fish appliques. There are 30 different fish and two kinds of jellyfish, many corals, octopus, a seahorse, and a turtle. Even back in 1990, I was inventing things with my sewing machine like using the twin needle to make the texture of brain coral. If you have never made a quilt before you need to watch my six how-to machine applique videos on my website: www.critterpat.com. I explain and show everything you need to know to get you started.
