Item details

I saved this bead medallion from it's certain demise about 20 years ago. I have held onto it for all this time because I know it has some history and I am a keeper of such snippets of history.

I believe the piece could have been a from "haute couture" piece of women's clothing Every bit of this beauty is hand beaded and stitched. I have to imagine that it might have been part of a pair of epaulets. The hand work on the back is attached to black netting. and the bugle beads are built up and sewn around a "berm" of some sort of fabric.

*There are 3 Black glass faceted baubles that have 2 offset holes with some type of fabric through the middle to attach the drop tassel beads. There are 2 faceted black glass(hollow) dome beads at the top, with 2 circle rows of bugle beads (3 rows on each), Both inside the circle and outside the medallion are tiny black glass beads for a nice finish. See photos

*It measures 4 1/2" in diameter and the tassels drop 6 1/2". Tip to tail it is 10 1/2". I do have extra beads that probably fell off the left hand side.

This medallion is fragile and could use a cleaning, definitely worth the time to repair it to it's former beauty. There are some loose threads that I chose not to cut for fear of unraveling.

I am asking $30 for this exquisite medallion. Obviously One of a Kind!

This piece was very difficult to describe. Please convo me with any questions
