Throughout the 40s and 50s in Salem, Oregon, Miss Betty Peters put together this book of scraps, clippings, daily entries, handwritten letters, pictures, and personal notes. As well as correspondence with a friend Africa, brought together by missionaries.
The pages are a shade of sealed together with miniature ribbon. Most are readable, all offer insight into what was of interest to this intriguing woman's life.Displaying her role in the "Orphean Chapter"
Located on one of the pages holds a note about her dear friend stating, "Rebecca Mamba walked 35 miles to pick this little bundle of grass." And the bundle of grass still attached after all these years.. Incredible. Heartwarming. Priceless.
She also saved a dinner napkin from every major dinner she got to attend while in the school.
That and so many other details make this book very unique and one of a kind, really.
Also included, an insightful questionnaire exam with answers, black/white photo of an Orphanage in Eugene, Oregon.
Fragile condition, would be best used as art or coffee table book perhaps.
See what else caught her eye in this solid little memoir...
