Vintage Magazine Travel - December 1917 - California, Colorado and the Pictorial Tour of the Netherlands - 48 Page Paper Ephemera
Travel is a luxury that most of us in this post modern age take for granted. At least the ease and numerous modes of fast transportation. A lovely collection of photos and narrative, this Travel Magazine issue from December 1917 takes readers through various locations both domestic and abroad.
Included in this issue, is an article and various photos titled "California- A State of Exhilaration," which explores the San Bernadino County in the southern part of the state as well as Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and more. "Enjoying Winter Sports in Colorado" gives onlookers a feel for the snow capped Rocky Mountain and the way skier and other enthusiasts at the time enjoyed these athletic activities. The last cover piece is a picture tour called "Through the Neutral Netherland," a glance into the everyday work and errands of the Dutch.
Advertising fills out the remainder of this nearly 100 year-old magazine. There are many for hotels some of which no longer exist, have been converted, or remain historical sites!
In great condition, all of the pages are intact. There are a couple of small tears to two sheets and couple of small stains to few pages.
Perfect for historians, collectors, teachers, editors, and more this would be a great magazine to have on display.
