This is one of the patterns from my new line: WonderAnn's Cabinet of Crocheted Curiosities. It produces a fairly accurate replica of a possum skull, which could easily pass as the skull of a red fox if you wanted to be more exotic. It measures about 5.5 inches in length, if you work with an F hook and a regular worsted weight yarn.
The pattern combines amigurumi-style crocheting - that is, crocheting in the round - with pieces that are crocheted flat. The pattern contains 18 pictures and clear written instructions, because it's no fun to try working a pattern that leaves you confused and discombobulated. Required stitches include sc, HDC, DC, slip stitch, and single crochet decrease - or in short, a bunch of stitches you know. (You got this!)
Additional materials are extremely limited and include a stitch marker and some stuffing. If you want to use wire, you can, but you don't have to. Apart from that, you need antique white yarn, a tapestry needle, and some scissors. And maybe an awesome movie to watch on TV.
This makes a great gift for a skull collector, a naturalist, anyone with a Victorian-style Cabinet of Curiosities, or in fact, anyone who likes unusual things.
**Again, this listing is for the pattern, not the completed skull**
