Item details

This Diaspore is a 1.045 Cushion Cut it measures 4.9x5.9mm
These are hard to come by -
It does have a visible line running through the gem about a quarter of the way down - It's still a rare find and priced accordingly!
There is a slight color shift from green to a champagne peach color.
I think it'd be fair to state that the colour change property of Diaspore is 'subtle' rather than 'dramatic'. Under daylight or flourescent lighting it doesn't offer much of a show at all - just varies between pale olive and a super pale ice green, a little like a champagne diamond. Whilst this colour is attractive in itself the gem really only comes alive under incandescent light (like an outdoor floodlight), when it shows a sudden flush of salmon pink in the heart of the stone that radiates to extremities like a slow blush. It's a fascinating sort of gem - cut out I'd guess for a born lover of things rare, foreign and exotic.
6.5 - 7 on the MOHS scale
