A wearable pincushion brooch featuring a rosette of tiny, hand-stitched patchwork. I've been making English paper pieced patchwork, especially in hexagons for as long as I can remember but never as small as this! The hexagons are 1cm in diameter and I have hand-pieced, appliqued and embroidered the piece by 'stitching in the ditch' of the design. The fabric is Liberty Tana Lawn and there are three brooches available in this design.
The brooch base is a 50mm filigree disc in antique bronze and features a sturdy pin stitched to a felt circle attached to the back. The pincushion is 40mm in diameter and is trimmed with cotton lace and a vintage mother of pearl button.
The pincushion brooch will come boxed with a selection of hand-decorated mini 'hat pins' similar to the ones shown.
