This is a digital file
This is 'Edwardian Rose' sewing pattern #1904-A-001, in digital (PDF) format, for that essential piece of Edwardian lingerie - the chemise, taken directly from an authentic antique French design.
This pattern is in digital PDF format that you can print on your home computer. It is not a diagram or scaled-down sketch that you have to enlarge. Once you print it out and assemble the printed pages, you have a regular FULL-SIZE pattern that can be immediately cut out and sewn.
It is exactly the same as my paper pattern, but in PDF format, offered at a lower price than the paper version, and of course with no shipping cost!
How does an instant digital download work? See: https://www.etsy.com/ca/help/article/3949 for details.
Printing and assembly is easy using free Adobe Reader software (available everywhere online), and full instructions are provided with the download.
Please note that this listing is for the digital (PDF) download of the pattern, not for the finished garment itself.
The chemise is the necessary first undergarment for anyone planning to wear an early 20th century corset, and was indispensable in an Edwardian lady's wardrobe. Most women had several, some had dozens, and there were almost endless variations on the embellishment.
This pattern is developed directly from the 1904 French original, but drafted in a dual-size format (see pattern envelope above). It is easy to sew and easy to fit - a great first project for anyone interested in heirloom or antique sewing! Step-by-step sewing instructions are provided (in English) with the pattern download, as well as a copy of the pattern envelope, and a photo showing the finishing on a sample chemise made from this pattern.
The photos show two variations on the embellishment possible. This chemise design can be made very simple, or very, very fancy with fine French insertion laces, lace appliqués and so on. Made up in an exquisite semi-sheer Swiss batiste, it would be worthy of an Edwardian-style wedding trousseau.

Custom Order Policies:
On most custom garment orders a 50% deposit will be required to cover the cost of fabrics and trims to be purchased for the project, and for my initial time input. If you choose fabrics that I have on hand in my stock, only a 30% deposit will be required.
Please convo me or use the "Request Custom Order" feature to make a request. Once all details have been agreed, including final price, I'll provide you with the expected completion and delivery dates and will set up a Custom Order listing for the deposit.
I'll keep you informed of my progress on the project, and once completed, I'll create a second Custom Order listing for the remainder of payment, which will be posted on Etsy at a mutually agreed date and time. The listing will remain posted for 24 hours, and payment is expected within 2 days, after which time I will list the item for open sale on Etsy or eBay at a price I set.
I can create a custom garment from practically any pattern design in my 'Edwardian Rose' antique pattern line, provided your measurements fall within the range shown on the pattern. I will consider custom-fitting an order outside those sizes, at additional cost.
Commissions for custom work are completed in the order in which they are received. Because I accept only a few commissions per year, 5 to 8 weeks is the usual completion time, depending upon complexity of the design.
