Pattern sized to an AG doll measuring 11" at the chest and 10 3/8" at the waist.
This dress was worn in England during the late 1770's during the reign of King George III.
Originally made with rich silks, it has an embroidered petticoat beneath a split front gown.
The bodice has a low square cut neckline that is trimmed with shirred organza or similar sheer fabric. It closes at the center front with 5 sets of hook and eyes on the inside of the bodice.
The sleeves are made with 2 pieces - an upper sleeve and an under-sleeve. They are 3/4 length and trimmed at the cuffs with shirred organza.
The overskirt gathers around the waistline leaving the front open to expose the petticoat. It has a roll hem on all 3 sides.
Ladies would have worn a pannier under the petticoat to give it lift around the hips. We offer a pattern for a period one in our shop.
The pattern has 2 pdf files. Look for 'View your files' on your invoice for the downloads.
The pattern prints on 8 1/2" by 11" paper.
