Item details

This is a very unique find, in great condition! This is a book Civil Defense Emergency Medical Tags. During WWII, Roosevelt created the Office of Civil Defense to protect civilians and promote volunteerism during the war. There were 9 offices, and each had their own set of tools to help during the war. This book came from the New York office.
This medical tag book was to be used in case of a massive medical emergency. Workers would quickly identify the problem, mark it on the tag, then tear out the tag and attach it to the victim. As doctors would come by they could quickly see who needed help and how badly.
This book is in great condition, with all parts of it intact. It's a very cool part of history for an agency that only existed during WWII. Makes a great gift for that special doctor in your life!
