9 Canada 1980s stamps. 2 blocks of mint postage. Themes: Grey Cup Football & Scouting. For collectors, decoupage etc. or to send letters.
In 1987 the 75th Canadian Grey Cup Football "event" took place in Vancouver, BC (my hometown at the time). This year, it will be the 102nd Grey Cup and it will once again be in Vancouver.
Four of the stamps offered are from 1987 and commemorate that 75th game with a great image of the cup, the crowd and, of course, a football!
Five other stamps in this offering are from 1983 and relate to scouting and have a wonderful childlike drawing of a tent, a scout and the Canadian flag against a setting (or perhaps rising) sun.
Each stamp is just approximately 1 inch by 1.5 inches in (2.5 cm by 4 cm).
As of 2014 regular Canada letter mail (like a normal-sized greeting card) is $.85 within Canada - and $1.20 from Canada to the US -- so you could mix these in various ways to send letters and it would be legal to do so.
Or perhaps you're a stamp collector. These are a beautiful addition and they have definite collector value!
If you're not a collector, and you don't use these for postage, they'd be ideal for decoupage, jewelry-making, assemblage art or other crafts. The images are striking and could be incorporated into, for instance, cards, pendants or other crafts.
The stamps you see in the photos are exactly what you will receive.
A great pairing would be with this listing
As a Canadian I am delighted to know that my country created so many wonderful images on stamps.
